The Center for Studies in Demography and Ecology, founded in 1947, supports education, research and scholarly exchange in population studies at the University of Washington.

The CSDE logo features a male and female salmon and signifies the core subjects of demography: fertility, migration and mortality. The logo was designed by Marvin Oliver.
